Digimon All-Star Rumble Introduces Digicard Battle Mechanic
Not only is Namco's old arcade star joining the roster of the two Smash Bros. games releasing later this year, but he's also been starring in his own TV show on Disney XD for more than a year now. That show has now spawned its second video game, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, and it has received a shiny new trailer in honor of Tokyo Game Show, going on now.
In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2, Pac-Man teams up with Spiral and Cylindria, two main characters from the Disney XD cartoon, to defend the Pac-World (yes, that's what it's actually called) from the ghosts that serve Lord Betrayus. The game will have the Pac gang traveling through time as they run through levels in the Space Age as well as the Stone Age.
Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution Hits American Shores
Judging by the trailer, the gameplay includes a lot of high-energy 3D platforming. As Pac-Man dashes from enemy to enemy, collecting dots along the way, the gameplay almost looks more like a Sonic game than some recent Sonic games did. Pac-Man also has access to several different kinds of powerups. Ice powers that freeze water into pathways, fire powers that give Pac-Man a quick glide ability and a power-up that turns Pac-Man into an Indiana Jones-esque rolling boulder are all on display.
The other two characters also have unique gameplay styles, such as a flying shoot-em-up level seen in the new trailer.
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 will hit PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and Nintendo 3DS system on October 14.
