Microsoft said today that it will replace any overly-noisy Xbox One console after a slew of internet comments complaining about the device making abnormal noises.
Don't Expect The Apple Watch's Battery Life To Be Too Impressive
"We have heard that a small number of Xbox One owners in some situations may hear a noise from the console that is too loud," an official Microsoft spokesperson told Eurogamer.
Your Xbox One won't explode, but the noise is undeniably a problem.
iPhone 6 Plus Battery Life Will Be Major Selling Point
"While this does not affect the safety or functionality of the system, we're asking customers who believe they are experiencing this issue to contact Xbox Support," the spokesperson continued. "At the request of our customers, we are exchanging those consoles for new systems."
On Microsoft's official forum, roughly 800 people responded to a thread complaining about the sound issue, with ire aimed at the device's creators. The Xbox One owners believe the noise occurs when the console draws a lower level of power.
"I go about half way through set up and during the update stage it starts making a terrible noise," writes one disgruntled user on Microsoft's forum. "It sounds like an old printer and lots of static. I've looked for posts and videos for the past hour and haven't found anything like it yet. I'm really disappointed in my 500 dollar purchase. Really starting to lose my faith in the consoles," the sadden customer concludes.
Because of the Xbox One's pricetag, the issue has understandbly caused outrage, but at least Microsoft is acknowleding and assisting with the issue.
