Controversial WWE Superstar CM Punk, aka Phil Brooks, is not happy. Not just because fans took pictures from his wedding to co-star Diva AJ Lee, but because WWE is making money off his likeness after their falling out. Which could be quite a blow to gamer wrestling fans everywhere, it turns out.

So what's going on here? The WWE got a letter from CM Punk (or more specifically, from his lawyers) regarding the rights to use his likeness, specifically in video games. After a not-so-secretive falling out, Punk was quietly removed from the WWE active roster on the website on July 15, the same day he tweeted thanks to his fans around the world without mentioning the WWE.
WWE 2K15, of course, had been in development long before that, and features the straight edger as a prominent selling point. In 22 pages, Punk's legal team have demanded he deserves royalties for the use of his likeness in this game. According to Wrestling Observer, Punk breached his contract and is therefore not entitled to royalties for his likeness anymore. Of course, we'll keep you updated as this develops.
