If you've pre-ordered The Sims 4, you can go to your Origin account and pre-load the game so you don't have to wait and perhaps experience slow download speeds on your area's day of release.
The Sims 4 Origin Pre-Order Exclusives Revealed
So when's the game coming out again? Well, that depends:
September 1, 9 p.m. PDT for the US.
September 2: North America, Central Asia, and Russia.
September 4: Australia, Japan, and Europe (excluding the UK).
September 5: New Zealand, India, South Africa, and the UK.
If you're still unsure about this toddler-and-pool-free experience, I refer you to the Create A Sim demo still available for download.
The Sims 4 SysReqs Surprisingly Low!
Some key differences between The Sims 3 and The Sims 4 (besides no toddlers or pools) as reported by a GameSpot preview will be the easier implementation of fan-created content. Whereas in the third one you had to go to the external service The Exchange, you can now simply just upload it all to the in-game feature The Gallery.
Going to work in-game - a thing that happens off-screen - now actually simply brings up a Sim-face with some limited options on what to do at work (such as for instance sucking up to your boss or actually working).
Items for purchase are still categorized by function and room type. A new (and surely much-welcomed) feature is the ability to search for an item directly. No more browsing through stuff you don't care about!
Have you already pre-ordered The Sims 4? If not, do some of these changes convince you?
