The dark knight, the caped crusader, the Batman. Over many decades, many iterations have struck the public's imagination time and time again. One of the least likely success stories of this icon (at least, to those that prefer their Batman grim and gritty) are the Lego games by Warner Bros. Interactive. Now, a third game is coming up.

What's the third LEGO adventure of our favorite and darkest knight all about? The official synopsis reads: "In LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, the Caped Crusader joins forces with the super heroes of the DC Comics universe and blasts off to outer space to stop the evil Brainiac from destroying Earth. Using the power of the Lantern Rings, Brainiac shrinks worlds to add to his twisted collection of miniature cities from across the universe. Now the greatest super heroes and the most cunning villains must unite and journey to different Lantern Worlds to collect the Lantern Rings and stop Brainiac before it's too late."
The cover art shows us not just Brainiac and the Lanterns, but also Superman, Lex Luthor, Robin, Wonder Woman, Flash, Solomon Grundy, and the Joker. Are these the heroes and villains we need, or the ones we deserve?
