The cast of Discovery Channel's Mythbusters is back down to just two as the Build Team – composed of Kari Byron, Tory Belleci and Grant Imahara – were announced to be leaving the show at the end of last night's season finale.
Titanfall Mythbusters Tackle In-Game Myths
Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman, the show's original hosts who will return to being the only two Mythbusters, made the announcement at the end of the episode. All five members of the cast took to Twitter after the announcement.
The show is taking a new direction. It was an amazing run. I learned so much about myself and the world. I love you all @MythBusters

The Build Team first became a visible part of Mythbusters during the show's second season. For the past 10 years, the team has served as a second set of Mythbusters, giving, as Savage put it, "literally [their] blood, sweat, and tears in the name of science." The trio spent episodes performing different experiements for separate myths while Savage and Hyneman worked on their own. Occasionally, the five would work together on the same experiment (with the occasional stint working as each other's test subjects).

You guys are so sweet. Thank you for all your tweets, but this means new beginnings...I promise. — Tory Belleci (@ToryBelleci) August 22, 2014
All three members of the Build Team expressed their excitement on Twitter for the future. The Discovery Channel Twitter account left them (and forlorn fans) with a farewell video celebrating the work that they have done for the past decade.
