Gwent is a card game created by the Dwarves that is found in the world of The Witcher 3, so PS4, Xbox One and PC players alike will be able to find the digital version. It's a fast-paced game best played in taverns over over a tankard of ale, a clash of two armies on a battlefield where the each player plays the leader of the army and the cards represent their forces. There are four different factions with different cards and combat styles.
Xbox One gamers get one better, though. If you pick up the Collector's Edition, not only will you be getting a massive hand-painted figure of Geralt battling a Griffin, not only will you get a Witcher medallion, a SteelBook, an artbook and cloth map of the world, but you'll get two full Gwent card decks.

"Gwent is an amazing game and we're really happy to be able to bring it to the physical realm with Microsoft's help. Now we've got Gwent in every copy of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt as an in-game experience for free on every platform, and a physical version in the Xbox One CE, how awesome is that?" said Marcin Iwiński, CD PROJEKT RED Co-founder and Joint CEO.
Here are the features for Gwent:
-Over 150 unique playing cards.
-4 distinct factions: the mighty and cunning Nilfgaardian Empire, the brave Northern Realms and their siege weapons, the agile and devious Scoia’tael, and the brutal monsters of No Man’s Land.
-Powerful spells allow players to control the weather and affect units on the battlefield.
-An array of combat styles caters to individual playstyles: close range with heavy knights, long range with skilled archers or artillery with powerful siege weapons.
-Powerful hero cards, unique to each faction.
Is the inclusition of the real thing enough to tip you towards the Xbox One version? You can pre-order the Collector's Edition right now from Amazon or Gamestop for a cool $150.
Hopefully they will release the game as a standalone title at some point in the future, something like they are doing with The Witcher Adventure Game!
