The good news keeps coming for fans of The Creative Assembly's Total War series: Rome II is coming to Mac.
Destiny Beta Progress Will Not Transfer Over To Full Game, Bungie Announce
It will be free to play on Mac if you already own the PC version due to the Steam Play feature, which allows cross-platform use on Valve's digital service. The developers revealed the news in a tweet, but did not give any additional details other than stating that it's coming "soon".
There understandably haven't been any new game releases since the relatively recent Rome II, but the developer has been busy with its properties. Around three weeks ago, the developers announced that the multiplayer components of Rome: Total War and Medieval II: Total War would be available on Steam. The games had gone offline due to the GameSpy shutdown, (the service had always hosted the servers) but the developers have now revived both via Steam.

The following week, the developers announced that Shogun 2, the most recent title after Rome II, would be coming to Mac as well. The port was handled by Feral Interactive, who specialize in releasing games on Mac and have done so for Bioshock, Tomb Raider, past Total War titles, and more. It remains to be seen if Feral will also be handling Rome II's Mac version, but more details may be forthcoming. The Shogun 2 port is available for Mac now.
As for Rome II itself, the developers have been busy on that front as well. They recently released a large patch for the game, which mainly focused on fixing siege battles, putting the title in a much more complete state (which would have been nice closer to or at launch.) You can read more about that update here--keep an eye out for more Total War news and the Rome II for Mac release date.
