After yesterday's announcement of new Ocarina of Time content for the upcoming Hyrule Warriors, Tecmo Koei has updated its site with all new images and content.
Link Gets An Old Ball And Chain In Hyrule Warriors
The three new announced characters, Darunia the Goron, Ruto the Zora Princess and Sheik all get the next-gen treatment. And they're looking good. An image of Sheik fighting Princess Zelda should solidly confirm that the two are in fact separate characters this time around. Sheik and Zelda were the same person in the legendary N64 title.
The mysterious fighter can also be seen with Impa, staring down an apparently wounded Zelda. Impa is Zelda's bodyguard, so it's safe to assume that perhaps some chicanery is afoot. The entire update is in Japanese, but pictures, my friend, need no translation.
SDCC: Two Comic Publishers Enter, One Publisher Leaves - Marvel vs DC
The system shop update that came along, however, definitely needs someone to translate. Some sort of additional weapon slot in the character menu for Impa, perhaps a break or some other Dynasty Warriors ability.
Additionally, several new Ocarina-inspired stages have been released. The Great Deku Tree, home to the Hero of Time, the Goron city and the Zora kingdom will now be playable stages in Hyrule Warriors.
Players are also getting a new villain: Gohma, the giant one-eyed spider from Ocarina will now be one of the many foes you must compete against.
Newcomer Lana also gets to play around with the Deku Tree. She can be seen wielding out magical doom to a bunch of interlopers who'd dare trespass onto the sacred ground.
Lastly, the third item in the collector's edition boxes have been revealed. A new costume for both Link and Zelda! You guessed it, they're going old school: each gets their duds from The Ocarina of Time. All that is left now is the Power Box, which should be filled with three versions of the as yet unannounced Ganondorf.
I'm bummed to see that the Wind Waker isn't more of a presence. However, nobody ever went wrong on using The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. It is seriously one of the greatest games ever made. I look forward to reliving the experience, however slight, this September 26 when Hyrule Warriors hits in America.
Expect trailers for the new characters soon!
