For a show that's been on the air for over two decades, The Simpsons still holds a vice-like grip on the imagination of an entire generation. Now, FXX is going to harness that incredible cultural power by launching the Simpsons World app, a vast library of every Simpsons episode ever.

With the launch of Simpsons World, subscribers will be able to not only watch every episode ever, they'll also be able to make little snippets out of it and create their own video replies/GIFs/etc. Currently, this is pretty difficult with the long arm of copyright law being a real hardass over the Simpsons' YouTube presence. Holy crap, imagine being able to actually insert whatever Simpsons reference you want to make in whichever internet dialogue you are currently participating in? The mind boggles...
According to HitFix, participating cable providers so far consist of AT&T, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox and Time-Warner. The app will be available on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Apple TV, Samsung, XBox1 and XBox360 as of now.
There are people writing for this very website who are not as old as The Simpsons. It is the single longest running sitcom in the history of the world. Quote it in any comments section on any website on the internet, and you'll get a bunch of upvotes based on how applicable your trenchant insight or bon mot was. TELL ME MORE, they'll say.
