Viz Media, major North American distributors of Japanese anime, have announced that the next installment in the popular Naruto Shippuden franchise will be released into select theaters this August.
Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn Review
The sixth entry in the film series, titled Road To Ninja will hit theaters in 45 cities on August 29. The film was originally released in Japan back in 2012 and remains the highest rated Naruto film, scoring a 7.7/10 on the IMDB, and earned quite a pretty penny, raking in over $18 million at the box office, making it the highest grossing Naruto film as well.
The soon to be released version will feature a brand new English dub audio track. Feel free to argue the pros and cons of dubbing of animated fare in the comments below.

Road to Ninja takes place in an alternate timeline, one where Naruto's parents were never killed at the beginning of the series. From the ElevenArts site, which is distributing the film in theaters: "Reminded of how alone he is, Naruto begins to wonder what it's like to have parents, when a strange masked figure appears before him - the same masked shinobi responsible for the death of his parents!"
The sixth movie of any franchise is as good a time to retcon events and deal with the alternate timelines as any other.
The movie comes out just weeks before Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM REVOLUTION hits the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 16. Now you never have to be without new Naruto.
Earlier in the year, Viz released the fifth installment; Naruto The Movie: Blood Prison on DVD and Blu Ray.
