Fortnite Is Minecraft meets Team Fortress
In the world of Fortnite, a mysterious dark force known only as "the Storm" has swept over the land, leaving society in tatters. It's up to the players and their friends to reclaim it, or at least defend it as best they can by building forts and defending themselves against the dark minions of said Storm. There's several Heroes to take control of and find resources, craft buildings and weapons with so you can turn that bad weather right around.
The video Epic Games just released showcases in great detail just how crazy building forts gets. From building stairs as you are walking, to setting up what appear to be huge tesla coils and fortifying them against zombies (okay, Storm minons, but let's call a spade a spade here) as your teammates back you up. Sign up for a chance to be in the alpha at the Fortnite website if this all sounds interesting to you. Some will be allowed entry this year, with more to come in 2015. Development is purely focused on PC right now, with consoles possibilities maybe being added in the future.
Everything We Know About Fortnite So Far
The primary-colored cartoony backgrounds are absolutely aces in my book, with resources coming out what appear to be treasure chests scattered over the world. Every surface you plant can contain doors, windows, or traps of your choosing, at any place you'd like there to be. Kinda reminds me of Orcs Must Die but far more advanced. I don't know about you fellas, but that's so many aces already I'm afraid some cowpoke's gonna grab my wrist and make an incriminating card fall out of my sleeve.
