It seems like PlayStation is going to be the way to go with Destiny, as Sony's platforms will be getting exclusive content that won't appear on a Microsoft console until Fall 2015.
It's Bungie Day! Check Out Beta Dates, Collector's Edition Details
Activision and Bungie just sent over a massive release to celebrate Bungie Day, detailing everything you could possible want to know about Destiny, the upcoming Beta, and various Collector's Editions you can buy.
Tucked into the release was this tidbit about the content - "PlayStation platforms will also include additional exclusive content for Expansion I and II and will remain exclusive until at least Fall of 2015."
Destiny Alpha Hands-On Preview!
We knew that the PS4 and PS3 were getting exclusive content- Sony announed it during E3- but that's one helluva long time for it to be locked away from Xbox gamers. Combine that with the recent PS4 alpha, and the news that the Destiny beta will launch almost a week earlier on PS4 and PS3 on July 17 (Xbox One gets it on July 23), it seems like there's one clear winner here- and that's before we all get bogged down with resolution and framerate comparisons.
While Bungie has been adament in support for the Xbox consoles with Destiny, it seems obvious that they have a better deal in store for Sony's consoles. Could this be a little dig at Microsoft, who is continuing to rake in the money with the Halo series Bungie created, with both Halo 5 Guardians and the Master Chief Collection? Whatever it is, it seems that if you have an option between the two, PlayStation is the way to go.
