Handsome Jack, that wily scoundrel who has caused so much grief for the Vault Hunters of the world, is back with some tips and tricks to help you navigate the Moon in the upcoming Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! due out in October.
Ascension Deck Building Game Getting New Content This Summer
In a tone that is smirking, Jack lays down some of the best, most effective ways to eliminate your enemies and get your, rather his, loot. He makes it a point to mention lasers, because after all, they are really cool. The new Cryo-weapons will let you harness your inner T-1000 and freeze then shatter your opponents like an ice sculpture.
The upcoming game will be a prequel to the sequel Borderlands 2, hence the name. It will once again follow four players, all of whom were NPCs in previous Borderlands games, as they assist Handsome Jack into his descent into out and out villainy. Apparently, the lovable scamp who made life so difficult in Borderlands 2 was not always like that.
The Wolf Among Us Episode 5 Releases Next Week
In an interview with Kotaku, Gearbox's Randy Pitchford said that that the game will reveal how villains "can be morally ambiguous, doing possibly bad things for the right reasons and then have that reflect what Handsome Jack is doing. There are several quests in the game where literally the only narrative purpose they exist for is to show you that the bad guy you're fighting is not actually a horrible person." Think of it like a more fun, better told, interactive Star Wars prequel.
Oh, and you can even play as everyone's favorite dubstep dancing robot, Claptrap!
Borderlands 2: The Pre-Sequel! is being released for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on October 14. No word if a next gen offering is in the works. Watch the video below and be sure to take notes, Handsome Jack will no doubt be testing you at the end!
