Calling All Sexual Tyrannosauruses: Evolve Alpha Testing Now Open

The monster-hunting 4v1 shooter from 2K games has now finally opened the doors to its jungle playground, in a long-awaited alpha mode.

Evolve The Big Winner At Games Critics Awards 2014

Ever since the game was announced nearly two years ago, expectations have been high for this co-op monster shooter from Turtle Rock Studios. Unfortunately, then-publisher THQ folded, putting its release at some risk. Thanks to BioShock publisher 2K, however, we can all test our mettle against (and play as) giant monsters this October 21.

If you want a sneak peek at the game, just go to alpha sign-up and fill out a survey to see if your PC can handle the game and the large coordinated multiplayer testing that will be going down.

As Turtle Rock Community Manager Jess Damerst mentioned on Twitter you can gain access to the survey with password "happyhunting" and referral code "JoinTheHunt". Beware: the alpha is only open to players from the North American mainland (how appropriate given the date) with a working Steam account. Sign up from the PC you plan on playing with, et voila! You will be contacted by e-mail if you are among the happy selected few by July 5, or so 2K promises.

While this is PC-only, for now, Xbox One owners should keep an eye out for news of an upcoming open beta.

No refunds if Lance Henriksen and Arnold Vosloo suddenly surround your house with motorcycle riding goons. Then again, none of the released hunter character names are Chance Boudreaux, so you might be safe. Stay tuned for alpha testing feedback, some of which no doubt will consist of players demanding the game's title be changed to Design Intelligently.
