It's official, PopCap's shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, spawned from the tower defense title, is headed toward the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. An announcement trailer from publisher EA dropped today confirming the news.
Hilarious Sly Cooper Spoof Hints at Garden Warfare's PlayStation Release
PopCap was apparently bombarded by fans requesting the game's release onto PlayStation platforms, and the developer has finally relinquished. And whats more, all of the Garden Warfare DLC released so far will be bundled with the PS versions of the game upon release.
"Our players have already vanquished more than 400 million plants and zombies, and we can't wait for PlayStation gamers to add to this total," said Producer Brian Lindley. "They'll see how accessible, yet deep, the gameplay is, and will get endless hours of fun out of the game."
We also learned that PopCap will allow for cross play between the consoles and Sony's handheld PS Vita, and the game will run in the ever so sought after 1080p resolution and 60fps.
As of today, players can pre-order the game, and be rewarded for two digital card packs and PlayStation exclusive customization for both their plants and zombies characters, as an early bird reward. The customizations include Hat Packs from the Ratchet & Clank, Sly Cooper, and Fat Princess games, seen below.
The game is set to hit the PlayStation 3 and 4 on August 19, and PC this June. PopCap will be present at this year's E3 to demo the PS versions of the game. You can check out the announcement trailer below.
