EA Sports has been counting down the top 40 players in the coming FIFA 14 World Cup Ultimate Team update and have now reached the top 10.
FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Combined Team Of The Season For Top Leagues Announced
The player ratings for the best cards cross the 90 overall threshold, but only for three international stars. The full top 10 is as follows:
1. Lionel Messi: 94, Argentina
2. Cristiano Ronaldo: 92, Portugal
3. Robin van Persie: 90, Netherlands
4. Andres Iniesta: 89, Spain
5. Arjen Robben: 89, Netherlands
6. Radamel Falcao: 89, Colombia
7. Xavi Hernandez: 88, Spain
8. Sergio Aguero: 88, Argentina
9. Franck Ribery: 88, France
10. Luis Suarez: 88, Uruguay
These are undoubtedly some of the best players in the game, though I will definitely contest Van Persie being the third-highest rated player in the world. Even during United's title-winning campaign two years ago that would have been a tough sell, but after this relatively poor season, I'm not sure how EA decided on that 90 overall rating.

If any striker should be third going into the World Cup, Suarez is probably the man, even if he's an injury doubt right now. Aguero should be at least as highly rated as Van Persie, too, so I'm not really sure what EA was going by. I don't think Ronaldo should be 2 lower than Messi after this year capturing La Decima, either.
It may be some factor of their normal FUT cards combined with contributions to their national teams in the past, but the ratings are pretty close between the top 10 that it isn't too big of a deal. Enjoy the new game mode when it hits tomorrow on all platforms.
