EA has released a trailer for The Sims 4's building mode, showing off all the new features and additions that will make constructing your virtual characters' homes much more efficient.

Speed and ease-of-use is highly emphasized in the build mode trailer, with The Sims 4 designer John Berges walking you through the new game. There are menus with rows of pre-built wall shapes and designs to make constructing rooms easier, rather than drawing each segment of wall in a line.
To make the process even more streamlined, you can click and drag a wall in a direction to expand the room, and the game will even redistribute the furniture inside intelligently to save you from having to rearrange each piece individually. You can drag and change the shape of pretty much any buildable object, which contributes to the speed at which a large house is constructed in the video.

Compared to Sims titles of the past, the process does seem a lot simpler and more efficient, though you can still build individual wall segments if you desire. The game has become more accessible as a whole (older fans of the game may claim this is to appeal to a more casual audience), but it looks as feature rich as any title before it.
Watch the building process below to assure yourself that there are still plenty of options and customizability despite the increased accessibility. The process looks streamlined but not any worse, and it looks like the builder lets you pull off some very intricate house designs.
