Fear not, Nephalem! If you got fat off the spoils of war during Diablo 3's 2nd anniversary celebration this last week, well, the good times never have to end. Blizzard has heard your clamors and now, the very popular buff, which upped the chance of a legendary item dropping by 100%, has been made permanent.

In a statement on the battle.net forums, game designer Travis Day announced:
'I come bearing exciting news. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the Anniversary celebration ends. Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning (today, May 22nd), you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week.'
The double-Rift fragment boost will sadly be ending, though they may bring it back later. We probably just have to wait a whole year until the third anniversary!
Reaper of Souls Review: The Diablo Game You Always Wanted
Now, a 100% increase for a number somewhere around .003% is still small, but given the sheer volume of items dropped in the game, players will definitely see their armor get to the orange much quicker. Note that the buff won't appear anywhere on screen like it does now, rather, it will be written into the game's code as a new, permanent feature. Future generations will never know of the dark times before the increase.
The buff only applied to the PC and Mac versions of the game.
