Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4 version of Watch Dogs will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second. Ubisoft hasn't commented on what the various versions of the game will provide, but the wording of Sony's statement is reason to cause some Xbox One owners alarm.
Watch Dogs: New PS4 Trailer Reveals Shady Characters & 'Warring Factions'
There has been no official word whether the Xbox One version of Watch Dogs won't perform on par with the PS4 version, but Sony's site says that the game will allow you to "[H]ack everything as you make your way through Chicago's underground as you experience Watch_Dogs in a way that only the PS4 can provide, at 60 Frames Per Second in 1080p." It certainly seems to indicate that they know something that Ubsioft hasn't revealed yet, and considering the Xbox One's recent track record of only displaying games in 720p, it is plausible.
But of course, Ubisoft hasn't commented on it yet. It's strange to not hear a peep from them just a few weeks from release and is a much different tactic than other companies are taking. Konami, for instance, didn't hesitate to showcase the differences between all the versions of the Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes, where the PS4 version was the only one that could output at 1080p

Besides potentially better and smoother graphics, another benefit this version of Watch Dogs will have over the others is that there will be four timed-exclusive missions (they will be available for PC) for both PS4 and PS3 versions. You'll get those missions, an exclusive character skin (the White Hacker suit) and a Hacking Boost Pack, which gives you an additional battery slot to extend hacks.
You can check out what the exclusive missions look like below. Watch Dogs will release on May 27- we will update you on the full specs of each version when we hear back from Ubisoft.
