'Titanfall' PS4: Xbox One Exclusive No More? 'Insider' Claims Build is 'Up And Running' [RUMORS, VIDEO]

Brief Tweets Fan Flames that Respawn is Working on Titanfall For the PS4

Is multiplayer mechanical mayhem coming to the PlayStation 4? That's the rumor, but with no official denial or confirmation, a rumor is all this is for the time being.

Titanfall Arcade Brings Smash Atari Hits Back from the Dead

Stoking the fire are tweets from alleged "insider" Tidux, who claims that not only is Respawn's debut shooter coming to the platform (maybe even others), but that there's even a build of the game that's "up and running on PS4."

The only problem is that no one from Sony, EA, or Respawn is willing to step forward and confirm or deny Tidux's "information." Likewise, Tidux isn't naming a source. Thanks to all this silence, we're only left with what's actually been said on the matter.

Strategy Video Offers Tips for Titanfall's Angel City

Last summer, when we first learned of the game's exclusivity, EA's Frank Gibeau described it as "different" from the publisher's "platform-agnostic" policy, saying Titanfall was "an EA Partners" game, and an apparent exception to the agnosticism. Translation -- No, it's not coming to PlayStation.

This was echoed more recently when it was theorized that a potential Titanfall sequel could go multi-platform. Oddly, it was a remark from EA's own CFO that helped get this snowball rolling. Blake Jrgensen said that a potential sequel could come to PlayStation and/or Nintendo platforms. Obviously "could" is a loaded word. The official word from EA stands as "We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall."

Still, some are clinging to the possibility, all thanks to one blurry image.

Let's travel back in time a bit. About a year ago, Game Informer sat down with Respawn to get the history of the young developer, and by proxy, the history behind Titanfall. The video has been embedded below. Head to the 2:34 mark, and you'll see something interesting.

Notice anything? Look close, and you'll spy a PlayStation DualShock controller, and a blurred out image of what's been alleged as a PlayStation 3 / PlayStation 4 dev kit. Indicative that Titanfall is coming into Sony territory? Hardly, but it was enough to encourage the idea.

It would be big news for one of the Xbox's exclusives to jump ship, and as a result, hard to keep on the down low. If Respawn is as far as Tidux says they are, then expect something at this year's E3. 'Til then, keep the salt shaker handy.
