Super Smash Bros. on Wii U and 3DS continues to build hype leading up to E3, where a live tournament will be held and displayed. The Nintendo 3DS version is set for a release this summer and the last major update came from a Nintendo Direct info dump, largely focusing on new character reveals.
Super Smash Bros: Review of Details We Know So Far
I recapped the details we have about the game so far yesterday, including the 29-character roster. Nintendo consistently drops smaller pieces of information, including regular image releases. There's a daily picture uploaded to the game's official site, and a description to go along with it from the developers on the Miiverse forums.
Today's new image, pictured above, focuses on the enemy character Orne. Unlike yesterday's pic of the day, today's screenshot is from the 3DS Super Smash Bros. title. Here is the brief description, straight from Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai's post on the forum thread:
"Pic of the day. The menacing foe, Orne! It inflicts devastating damage--it's even more powerful than the Ultimate Chimera in the last game. RUNNN!!"
Orne is an enemy from Kid Icarus: Uprising, and looks like it may serve as an enemy in the single-player mode. It's possible that he will appear as an assist trophy (last time such an item was posted, the description specified that Midna would be an assist trophy) but Sakurai doesn't give a lot of information to go on.
Orne will be familiar to playable character Pit, the protagonist in the Kid Icarus games. Keep checking back for more Super Smash Bros. news as the E3 live tournament approaches.
