Capcom is receiving praise from fans as "Monster Hunter Wilds" makes a somewhat drastic change to the game compared to "Monster Hunter World."

The change in question is that monsters in "Monster Hunter Wilds" will have more health and increased flinch resistance compared to past titles in the franchise. While some players may be worried that this could make hunts more tedious, Capcom says this is not the case.

Monster Hunter Wilds Makes Significant Change

The studio said that they eventually made health higher in "Monster Hunter Wilds" compared to "Monster Hunter World." This was supposedly done to maintain appropriate playtimes and player satisfaction. It added that various elements, such as flinch resistance, also went up.

Despite Capcom's claim that the changes will not make the latest entry in the franchise more tedious, a lot of fans are already praising the adjustments. Users on Reddit's "Monster Hunter" page had all but positive words following the reveal of the changes.

One player said, "Very nice if true. Rise was a flinch fiesta and hunts taking at least 10 minutes and not ending up with perma stunlocking the monster sounds like a win." Another user commented, saying that they preferred to dance around an active monster instead of keeping it locked down and just dealing damage to it, according to Comic Book.

There was a third comment that noted the change was probably a good thing for them as a returning player to the series. They noted that a lot of hunters usually steamroll through low and high rank hunts and just bullied monsters in the early game.

Keeping Players Engaged During Hunts

They argued that being able to face a challenge, especially for a new monster, will be quite rewarding if done right in "Monster Hunter Wilds." The game's balance will most likely continue to change moving forward as players submit feedback that could urge Capcom to change things up even more.

The announcement of the change also comes as "Monster Hunter Wilds" is just about a month away from launch and many fans are excited to start their journey through a new world. The idea that monsters in the latest entry could have higher health may not have much impact on hunt time, Games Radar said.

This is because hunters will have access to a variety of new tools and mechanics that will let them dish out even more damage than before. The primary one is the new Focus Mode, which lets your character deal a tremendous amount of damage to monsters that have wounds opened up.

Director Yuya Tokuda said that Focus Mode has a purpose of allowing players to feel more accomplished through shorter loops. They supposedly tried to design it so that the time they spend hunting is much more concentrated compared to in past titles, according to Gaming Bolt.
