The robot-themed city builder "SteamWorld Build" is finally getting a physical version for both PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch, which will arrive on Jan. 9, 2025.
The development comes as a result of a collaborative effort between Super Rare Games and Thunderful Publishing. "SteamWorld Build" is described as a casual city-building and dungeon-management title that is set within the "SteamWorld" universe.
SteamWorld Build's Physical Version
In this game, players are tasked with building and managing a town located on a planet that is dying. They will have to balance various resources, construction, and explorations to the planet's depths to ensure their town's survival and their hopeful escape.
The official release date of the physical version of "SteamWorld Build" on PlayStation 5 and the Nintendo Switch is on Jan. 9, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. GMT. It was revealed that there will be 4,000 copies for Switch users and 2,000 copies for PlayStation 5 users, according to God is a Geek.

Fans of the franchise can grab the physical version of "SteamWorld Build" and enter a world they can customize to their liking. The game is surprisingly complex and still allows players to easily manage their towns with layered production and worker upgrades.
Some players said that one of the trickiest things in the game is keeping your workers happy, particularly if you have groups of them scattered instead of being close together. The former means that you will have to build two types of luxuries instead of just one.
A Casual Robot-Themed City Builder
The physical versions of the game that will be coming out are limited in stock, and once they are sold out, they will be gone. Despite the announcement, the studios did not provide an exact price for them, but many assume they will cost somewhere between $20 and $50, Bleeding Cool said.
"SteamWorld Build" offers players a unique and accessible entry to both genres and features adorable hand-drawn art as well as a delightful soundtrack. In the game, players can easily construct and manage their city using simple controls and a user-friendly interface.
The physical version of the game will also include a variety of bonuses on top of the game itself. These are interior art, a full-color manual, an exclusive sticker, and three trading cards that feature some of "SteamWorld Build's" characters.
The fact that the full game will be on the cartridge itself means players will not have to worry about the hassle of finding a code in the box and inputting it onto their consoles, according to Nintendo Life.
