Players have access to a variety of skills in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" that they can level to get many different benefits.
One of the skills in the game is Smithing, which lets you create and improve your own equipment to help you in battle. Having a high level of this skill lets you make stronger armor and weapons that will make fights with various creatures easier.
There is a temporary way of increasing your Smithing skill in the game without actually having to level it up. This is by using a Fortify Smithing potion that boosts your skill level when you are improving gear at a Workbench or Grindstone.
Is it also worth noting that the Fortify Smithing potion is the only that works when you are trying to improve existing gear in your inventory. This is opposed to when you are trying to craft a new piece of equipment.
Ingredients for a Fortify Smithing Potion
In order to make a Fortify Smithing Potion in "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," you will need Blisterwort, Glowing Mushroom, Sabre Cat Tooth, and Spriggan Sap. These are the four main ingredients that can either be purchased from alchemist vendors, stolen from them, or gathered from the wild, according to Screen Rant.
The Blisterwort is located in most caves that you find in the open world, such as Halldir's Cair, Blackreach, and Chillwind Depths. Players can find a Glowing Mushroom in much fewer quantities, but it can be gathered from Tovald's Cave and in the Dwemer ruins.

The Sabre Cat Tooth is acquired from the beast of the same name by removing one of its teeth. These felines can be found lurking around the game's Whiterun and Winterhold areas. Sabre Cats usually hang around northern regions or where it is cold enough for their dens.
Spriggan Sap, on the other hand, is an easy ingredient to get as it can be purchased from alchemy shops. If you want to gather them, know there are only a few of them in the world.
Effects of the Fortify Smithing Potion
The base effect of this particular potion is to boost your Smithing level when improving armor and weapons at a Workbench or Grindstone. The exact amount of the boost will depend on the player's Alchemy skill level, Game Rant said.
If you want to make stronger potions, you must also increase your Alchemy skill level, which can be done by simply making more potions or purchasing training sessions from specific NPCs.
Other Tips
On top of getting a temporary boost to your Smithing by using the potion in this guide, you can also wear an amulet, ring, armor piece, and set of gauntlets that have the Fortify Smithing enchantment.
This will have a similar effect to the Fortify Smithing potion whereby they let you improve armor and weapons even further, according to The Gamer.
