Developer GSC Game World has fans a disappointing bit of news regarding "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl," which is that there are no plans for a PlayStation 5 version of the game.
The revelation comes as fans know that the game is a timed console exclusive for Xbox Series X/S. Some leaked documents also confirmed the duration of that particular deal was only three months.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl for PlayStation 5
"STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl" officially launched on Nov. 20, 2024, after more than a decade in development due to various issues. This caused many fans to speculate that a potential PlayStation 5 version of the game could come sometime around late February 2025.
The latest announcement was made during an interview with director Ievgen Grygorovych, who admitted that the Ukrainian team was focused on "developing and supporting" the existing versions for now.

Given the development team's location, as well as the fact that the initial release of the game was widely criticized for being very buggy, it stands to reason that the studio will work on improving the core experience before bringing "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl" to other platforms, according to Push Square.
Despite this somewhat disappointing news, what it means is that the PlayStation 5 version of the game should be in great form when it does come out sometime in the future. This will be as the developer has worked to iron out the majority of the bugs that plague the game.
Improving the Core Experience
When "STALKER 2: Heart of Chronobyl" was released last month, it quickly rose through the ranking for sales and player count. This was due to the significant demand for the post-apocalyptic first-person shooter through its decade-long delays.
The game was originally announced by GSC Game World in 2010, but it has been canceled and revived since then. "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl" has collected enough revenue a month after launch to generate profit for the developer, Game Rant said.
Grygorovych was also asked about the rumored three-month Xbox exclusivity for "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl." He emphasized that the development team's policy is not to talk about "leaks, rumors, or speculations."
Many people are saying that "STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl" will easily make you sink 100 hours into it without you noticing it has been that long. This is said to be especially true if you are a big fan of the franchise's previous entries, according to Dual Shockers.
