This year has seen many high-profile releases in the video game industry, and fans want more, as a lot of the titles set for 2025 are expected to arrive with a bang.
The Game Awards 2024 also just concluded and featured a ton of new announcements that have fans eagerly waiting for next year to come soon. Some of these are the start of new franchises, while others are the latest entries to already popular game series.
This article lists some of the announced games that are expected or scheduled to come out in 2025 and which ones are on a lot of people's lists. Which of these titles are you most excited to play yourself?
Games Coming in 2025
Capcom is starting 2025 out with a bang with Monster Hunter Wilds, which is set to release on Feb. 28, 2025. On the other hand, Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Shadows was originally set to come out this year but was delayed to Feb. 14, 2025, according to Push Square.
Fans of Japanese RPG titles will be able to get their hands on Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II, coming out on Feb. 14, 2025. A surprising release is FromSoftware's Elden Ring Nightreign, which is a spin-off of the studio's popular soulslike.
Gearbox Software also shared the official trailer for Borderlands 4 following the previous teaser that the studio put out for the game. Hideo Kojima's own development studio will also release Death Stranding 2: On the Beach in 2025.

Nintendo is also making a statement next year with the previously revealed Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which follows up on the success of Pokemon Legends: Arceus. However, it does not yet have a specific release date but is expected to come out sometime next year.
This spin-off of the popular franchise shakes up the gameplay formula by giving fans a chance to explore a more open-world area, RPG Fan said.
Other Popular Titles
Fans of puzzle games and mysteries as a whole can look forward to the release of Professor Layton and New World of Steam. Publisher Level-5 is bringing the newest entry in the franchise, which features the titular master sleuth making a return after nearly a decade.
The story of the game looks like it will follow up on the events of the first trilogy's ending and will feature Layton and Luke solving a variety of nifty and confusing puzzles. The game is set to come out on the Nintendo Switch and possibly its successor sometime in 2025.
More games that a lot of people are looking out for in 2025 include Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto VI, DOOM: The Dark Ages, Civilization VII, and Avowed, among others, according to PCGamer.
