A leak about Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.'s supposed open beta test has been shared that seems to show details about the early preview.

Sega recently revealed that the latest game in the Virtua Fighter franchise to be coming out next is not Virtua Fighter 6 but a different version of Virtua Fighter 5. The leak has made fans of the series hopeful that an official announcement for the beta test will be made soon.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Open Beta

The rumors come after a SteamDC listing appeared for "Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. Open β" specifically, which means that it is not simply the main game for PC. The listing did not include a release date, so fans are not sure when it will actually be coming out.

The latest development also showed the listing as "hidden to the public," which means that there is no relevant information attached to the page. The only thing that can be seen on the page is the title and several banner images, according to Event Hubs.

Some fans have speculated that the open beta test for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. could let players try out at least some of the game's available roster online. The leak is exciting news as it is a sort of remake of the original 2006 game.

The Latest Entry in the Franchise

This will be Sega's attempt to offer rollback netcode and launch the game on PC in general. With The Game Awards 2024 right around the corner, players are hoping to get some new information about Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.

The upcoming title introduces some new changes to the original game, such as 4K visuals with updated high-res textures and additional game balance changes. The studio said that the latter will affect all of the game's 19 playable characters, Polygon said.

Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio said that players will get access to several different modes, such as ranked, arcade, training, and versus in Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. There will also be 16-player tournaments and leagues for the game's online competition portion.

The Virtua Fighter franchise started when the first game was released in 1993 for arcades and became one of the most influential fighting games in history. The series was able to push the boundaries of gaming with its 3D graphics and technology, which was considered ahead of its time, according to Game Rant.
