Microsoft just added 400 games to the Xbox App for Windows PC as part of the company's new Home Experience strategy.
The development is part of the company's ambitious plans to continuously expand the reach of its Xbox App to include more people. The announcement was made by Xbox's Chris Charla, who said that the games include Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Jackbox Party Pack.
Xbox App Gets 400 Games
She noted that there were also dozens of titles from veteran Japanese studios Kemco and Kairosoft that were part of the expansion. Charla said that 100 of the new games support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means that players who buy the Xbox console version can play it on their PC as well.
Charla also said that the benefits of the arrangement include universal Xbox ownership, universal cloud saves, and cross-play between Xbox titles on console and PC. This is reportedly part of Microsoft's larger initiative to attract developers from rival digital storefronts, according to Game Spot.

The efforts also supposedly include the company deciding to reduce its cut from sales to only 12%. Charla also promised that more details regarding the situation will be shared at the Game Developers Conference 2025, which is set for March next year.
A previous report also indicated that Xbox's direct-to-cloud controllers are currently in a testing and development phase. It was also noted that Microsoft is trying to improve the visual quality of its streams so that people can play Xbox games without a console but still at the same level as the Xbox Series X/S.
A New Home Experience Strategy
On top of the 400 games being added to the Xbox App, there is also an official Home menu screen coming. This would make it easier for players to quickly access different useful options and tabs, Windows Central said.
Microsoft said that the development is part of its efforts to bring all PC games with Xbox features into the Xbox App. It added that the app is a good tool for players to find cool Xbox games that are not available with Xbox Game Pass.
Charla added that there are also new curated collections and recommendations, as well as deals and discounts for players. The Jump back in feature lets players in Compact Mode click on any game card and go right back into gameplay even from the game's hub.
Microsoft is moving forward to work on its goals of making the Xbox App a more welcoming home for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, according to PCGamer.
