Released on December 6, 2024, The Thing: Remastered is a survival horror shooter game developed by Nightdive Studios and Computer Artworks. Nightdive Studios also serves as the game's publisher.
As previously mentioned, it is the remaster of the 2002 video game The Thing, which was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows. The game is meant to be a sequel to a 1982 film of the same name directed by John Carpenter.
The player takes on the role of Captain J.F. Blake, the leader of a U.S. Special Forces rescue team that was sent to investigate what happened at a research outpost in Antarctica. Here, the team ends up encountering an alien life-form that has the ability to take on the appearance of the people it kills.

The remastered version has many new features that gamers can look forward to. First, there is an advanced trust/fear interface, which adds a new level of interaction. What this means is how you influence your teams psychological state determines whether or not they will cooperate with you.

The Thing: Remastered has more than 300 user reviews on Steam as of press time. These reviews has been described by Steam as "Very Positive."
"This is an amazing game," user post_64 said in a Steam review. :It just crashed on me while freeing the prisoner from cell 6 but i'm having an absolute blast and desperately searching for games like this."
