Players in Fortnite OG are complaining of rampant bots, with claims that up to 90% of players in every match are not actual players, and demand an immediate fix.
The situation comes following the relatively successful launch of Fortnite OG, which brings back the beloved classic game mode. The number of bots in every game is courtesy of reliable Fortnite data miners and leakers, including osirion_gg.
Fortnite OG Bots
They claimed that lobbies for Fortnite OG had up to 90 bots in every match in low skill-based matchmaking (SBMM) lobbies. These are essentially filled with players who are not yet that good at the game so they are matched with similarly skilled individuals.
But it seems like that this is not actually the case as these newbies are actually being matched with bots. This is something that is believed to have been designed in order to make the players feel like they are doing much better than they would have if they were against real people, according to Insider Gaming.

Leakers claim that this was done due to the surge of skilled players who were coming back to Fortnite with the return of the classic mode. This allegedly led to lower-skilled players not having as much fun and resulted in them not playing the game.
It was also claimed that in high SBMM lobbies, there are only about 10 bots and the other 90 are real life people. There have been several videos of players that appear to be low-skilled bots spreading online following the leaks.
A Less Fun Experience
Many players argue that the apparent bots in low-skilled lobbies are making Fortnite OG a little bit too easy for these players. A lot of people are now asking for Epic Games to either rebalance their involvement in matches or get rid of them entirely, PCGamesN said.
The situation comes as the official Fortnite X account said that duos are now live in Fortnite OG and that they made matchmaking improvements in all playlists for the returning mode. However, the comments section is noteworthy as it was filled with players and content creators discussing the addition of bots, particularly in low-skilled lobbies.
Fans are upset with the current state of Fortnite despite it being one of the most popular Battle Royales currently available. One user sarcastically said that they met a real player in their lobby, which they referred to as a bug.
The issue of bots is arguably something that the majority of the playerbase agrees on is not really a solution to existing problems. Only time can tell whether Epic Games can fix the takeover of bots in Fortnite, according to Screen Rant.
