Early access for Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile 2 just released but servers for the game went down as people swarmed in droves.

The developer warned players ahead of the early access release that there would most likely be login, server, and queue issues at launch. This was eventually the situation when the game actually came out on Steam.

Path of Exile 2 Early Access

Path of Exile 2 was scheduled to launch at 2:00 p.m. ET but it remained offline for a considerable amount of time. Grinding Gear Games provided several updates, noting that they have deployed database improvements and are working to get the game back up.

Three hours after the scheduled release, some players were able to log into the game but were still experiencing disconnections and party issues. Despite the issues at launch, Path of Exile 2 was putting out record numbers on Steam with people on Twitch just staring at the login screen, according to Forbes.

Login and Server Issues

Even if Path of Exile 2 goes live after the studio's updates, players should still expect long login queues due to the massive interest in the game. Steam showed that roughly 440,000 players were trying to get into the game through Valve's gaming platform alone, Sports Illustrated said.

Uncut Gems are being introduced in Path of Exile 2 which give players the chance to increase their power significantly. You can unlock a variety of skills while mixing and matching different Support Gems to transform your abilities.

Grinding Gear Games put seven distinct endgame systems that await players who get to the final stages of Path of Exile 2. You will also have access to special passive trees that will increase the rewards of the maps and change the workings of various mechanics in the endgame, according to the PlayStation Blog.
