Developer Shiro Games announced that its new sci-fi MMO game SpaceCraft is coming out in early access sometime in 2025.
The studio is responsible for other noteworthy titles such as Northgard, Dune, and Wartales. SpaceCraft is described as a massively multiplayer management and crafting adventure that is in the year 2350.

The game lets players explore the vast expanses of space inside their own custom-built starship. You will be able to gather a variety of resources from different planets that are located throughout the universe.
These can be used to craft housing, production, communication, and many other essential structures. You will also have the opportunity to join forces with other players so that you can form your own powerful trade organizations. You can then take on challenging missions and shape the economy.
The Steam page for SpaceCraft also goes into more detail about the game, including various mechanics such as faster-than-light travel, automation, and fleet combat. Shiro Games is very popular for its games that come just short of being game-of-the-year contenders, according to Rock Paper Shotgun.

Many fans think that the studio trying to dip its toes into the MMO genre feels like a major gamble in terms of how successful it could be. Others are hopeful as the genre as a whole is always a shot in the dark when it comes to pleasing fans.
The game's story details that humanity has been studying the lost technologies of a forgotten civilization before reactivating the so-called Tripods. These are autonomous and self-replicating war machines, Gematsu said.
An Expansive Sci-Fi MMO
This resulted in a brutal century-long war before something known as the mysterious H incident changed everything. This caused the majority of humanity's fleet to suddenly be obliterated, causing the balance of power to tip drastically in favor of the Tripods.
They then started to decimate the United Planets and have worked on pushing humanity to the brink of extinction. There was a coded transmission amid the chaos that came from a distant galaxy that gave humans a lifeline as it contained the coordinates to a hidden portal.
The portal allowed the remaining survivors to flee from the losing war and escape to an uncharted galaxy that holds the key to their continued survival. Another key feature is managing complicated relationships and scenarios between your fellow humans.
You will need to forge connections in order to survive, which forces you to join various political, military, and financial factions. These will provide you with various benefits, according to PCGamesN.
