Publisher Ubisoft brings the sequel to Watch Dogs: Legion in an unprecedented form. This is via an audiobook that continues the story of the franchise.
This comes as the original Watch Dogs game was originally released in 2014 and was labeled by many people as a competitor of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) V. While the two games had their similarities, they were not totally the same.
Watch Dogs Audiobook
The synopsis of Watch Dogs details the protagonist, Aiden Pearce. He is a brilliant hacker and former thug. The character's criminal history resulted in a violent family tragedy and forced him to go on the hunt for the people who hurt his loved ones.
The game lets players monitor and hack all the people nearby by manipulating everything that is connected to the city's network. The franchise then spawned two sequels in 2016 and 2020. The second is Watch Dogs: Legion which is set in a dystopian London, according to Gaming Bible.
That would sadly be the end of the story so far as fans continue to ask the developers for a continuation of the story. But the latest news sparks hope as there is an audiobook called Watch Dogs: Truth that is currently available via Audible.
It is set following the events of Watch Dogs: Legion and takes inspiration from the classic "choose your own adventure" books. Watch Dogs: Truth lets fans make choices at the end of every chapter to direct where the story will go.
Fighting for the Truth
The official description of Watch Dogs: Truth says that listeners will be able to experience a thrilling story where they can once again join the fight for truth. The audiobook will guide you using self-aware AI, Bagley, in making decisions at the end of each episode, the Video Games Chronicle said.
It adds that across the series, listeners will take control of the city's fate with their own hands as the government's cyber intelligence force (SIRS) plots a scheme. This is by conducting a sinister campaign of message manipulation and fake news.
The audiobook stars Russell Tovey, Freema Agyeman, David Morrissey, Gary Beadle, and T'Nia Miller, among others. Watch Dogs: Truth comes as a movie inspired by the franchise is also being worked on.
Ubisoft previously collaborated with Audible to bring Assassin's Creed Gold, which was a series that featured a blind hero. The audiobook comes as there is still no information about Watch Dogs 4 or what the publisher has in store for the mainline franchise, according to Eurogamer.
