Nintendo Switch Anniversary: Free Games To Download, Massive Halloween Sale

Nintendo Switch's anniversary is here and the Japanese company is celebrating with various sales and game releases.

There are two F-Zero Game Boy Advance games that you can get right now for free as the franchise celebrates its 20th anniversary. What makes this even more noteworthy is that one of the original members of staff who worked on it shared a custom download.

The two games in the series that are available are F-ZERO ClLIMAX and F-Zero: GP Legend. These two titles can be downloaded right now completely for free if you are subscribed to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Tier.

F-ZERO CLIMAX is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Oct. 21, 2024, and the custom download that one of the original staff members uploaded was a new course. The employee in question is supervisor and character designer Takaya Imamura, according to Gaming Bible.

In his social media post, Takaya explained that the new track he created was designed as a way to mark the game's upcoming anniversary. The course can be downloaded by using the code that was included in the tweet.

The original version of F-ZERO CLIMAX featured the track editing system when it first came out on Oct. 21, 2004, for the Game Boy Advance. These tracks were originally designed to be shared using the GBA Link Cable. But players could also use a password to access tracks that were custom-made.

The Nintendo Switch turns eight years old this year. The Japanese company is hyping up the release of the handheld console's successor. The Nintendo Switch 2 was showcased in a video that had a dynamic introduction, Nintendo Life said.

So far, Nintendo has not yet officially revealed all of the information regarding the Switch 2 despite many leaks about its specs and look. There are also already some developers who have apparently been invited over to Nintendo's headquarters to discuss plans for games.

Halloween Sale

Black Friday also came a little bit early for Nintendo Switch users as a new Halloween sale is making some Switch games a lot cheaper this holiday season. These include Spiritfarer, the award-winning cozy management sim where players become newbie ferry masters to the deceased.

Spiritfarer's base price on the Nintendo Store was $30 but it has now dropped to only $7, which is a massive 75% discount. In this game, you can build a boat to explore and platform your way in its beautiful 2D world.
