Publisher Selecta Play and developer Relevo revealed an official release window for Terrifier: The ARTcade Game. The game will arrive on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in 2025.

Terrifier: The ARTcade Game turns the terrifying horror hit into a retro-inspired beat 'em up. The game has pixel-art visuals and lets players take control of Art the Clown from the Terrifier horror films. It is a four-player local co-op brawler that has a chip-tune soundtrack.

The game also goes full old-school with its SEGA Genesis-era visuals. It features six game modes and showcases over-the-top violence. In Terrifier: The ARTcade Game, players will have to disrupt movie sets where films about their own gruesome acts are being shot.

Instead of letting the cameras capture the staged terror, you will help Art the Clown bring his own brand of real chaos. He will tear through hordes of policemen and other characters as well as unsuspecting civilians, according to IGN.

The game also promises that players will be able to perform over-the-top finishing moves. It features boss battles at the end of every stage and gives you access to powerups and weapons, such as chainsaws and cleavers.

Fans of the franchise who are eager to get their hands on Terrifier: The ARTcade Game can wishlist it on Steam right now. The announcement of the release window also coincides with the recent release of the Terrifier 3 movie in cinemas.

The developers also shared some details about what fans can expect from the upcoming game. The stages of Terrifier: The ARTcade Game will be unique as they have different paths to explore. They are also filled with various enemies for you to defeat, Yahoo said.

Over-the-Top Violence

Players can relive the golden age of gaming as it perfectly complements the title's retro visuals. This is with the game's chiptune soundtrack. The different game modes also offer some flexibility as you can opt for a quick session or an extended challenge.

The third movie in the franchise was directed by Damien Leone and features various returning cast members. These include David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown and Lauren LaVera as Sienna. Other actors coming back to the series include Samantha Scaffidi as Victoria Heyes and Elliot Fullam as Jonathan Shaw, according to Bloody Disgusting.

The trailer for Terrifier: The ARTcade Game showcased its similarities to the films in that it highlights the violent nature of the titular antagonist. The video starts off with a short cutscene before showing gameplay footage of the game.
