Slay the Princess: Pristine Cut just got an official release date for consoles and PC to bring the definitive edition of the cult hit visual novel.
The upcoming title will be available on both modern- and previous-generation consoles, the Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. There will also be a free update to the existing game that will come out on Oct. 24, 2024.
Slay the Princess: Pristine Cut
Developer Black Tabby Games and publisher Serenity Forge announced that the definitive release brings brand new content to the psychological visual novel. These include 35% more gameplay compared to the original.
Players will experience three brand new chapters, meet never-before-seen princesses, travel expansions to familiar routes, and see a brand new ending. The studios also added a gallery so that you can relive your memories, triumphs, and untimely deaths throughout your journey, according to IGN.
Slay the Princess: Pristine Cut features more than 1,200 new frames that were hand-illustrated by Abby Howard. The definitive edition also has more than 2,500 new lines of dialogue that were fully voiced by Jonathan Sims and Nichole Goodnight.

The game puts players on a path in the woods where they find a cabin at the end of it. You look inside the building's basement only to find a Princess. You were sent here to slay her because she will end the world if you do not.
The princess will do everything in her power to stop you from killing her and preventing her from doing what she pleases. She will charm you and lie and promise everything you could ever dream of, Gematsu said.
An Immersive Horror Experience
However, if players succumb to her promises and release her, she will immediately kill them. Slay the Princess: Pristine Cut offers a horror experience where your choices have drastic consequences.
Players should expect to die a lot in this game and start over with something a little bit different. Almost everything has the power to shift the story in dramatic directions. In one instance, the princess is a regular person but in another, she is a 10-foot-tall demon.
On top of the release of the definitive edition, Abby and Tony plan to celebrate the original game's one-year anniversary on their official Twitch channel. They will show players how they draw each Princess live on stream.
The due will also talk about what it was like for them to work on the game and even play one of the many paths through the definitive edition of the title. This would give fans of the game a taste of what they can expect in the upcoming release, according to Gaming Trend.
