The Elder Scrolls: Castles just launched completely for free for iOS and Android devices. The mobile game Bethesda's latest entry in the highly popular franchise.

The launch comes as many fans of the series are still eagerly waiting for any update from the studio for The Elder Scrolls 6. The latest mainline game in the franchise is still in development and years away from an actual release.

The Elder Scrolls: Castles

Players can get The Elder Scrolls: Castles as a way to tide them over before Bethesda releases the upcoming mainline game. The studio's recent release is basically Fallout Shelter but set inside the world of The Elder Scrolls franchise.

Bethesda's mobile game lets players create their own unique castle to house their dynasty for several generations. Going outside of the castle's walls lets you battle with iconic Elder Scrolls enemies. Doing this earns you more gear and lets you upgrade various characters, according to ComicBook.

The release of The Elder Scrolls: Castles is no surprise as Fallout Shelter is Bethesda's biggest game in history. It was able to surpass more than 200 million downloads after it was launched in 2015.

Bethesda also offered free rewards for those who pre-registered for The Elder Scrolls: Castles. These are 100 gems, a Dynasty XP boost for 10 minutes, a legendary pack, three banner decorations, and the legendary subject Ulfric Stormcloak.

The studio also noted that players who want to unlock these gifts in the game must reach Dynasty level 25 before Oct. 10, 2024. In this game, players will have to think about making difficult decisions regarding rationing for their kingdoms, said GameSpot.

News on The Elder Scrolls

The release of The Elder Scrolls: Castles also comes as the first companion for The Elder Scrolls 6 has seemingly been teased early. Actor Vico Ortiz may have confirmed that he is voicing a companion in Bethesda's highly anticipated RPG.

This was seen in an "Our Flag Means Death Q&A" panel at GalaxyCon, San Jose. He said that fans will most likely hear his voice a lot in a video game called The Elder Scrolls. He also teased that if you want to be his companion, he will be yours.

Despite the tease, the important thing to note here is that Ortiz did not mention the specific entry in the franchise that he will be voicing for. This means that he could end up working as an NPC in a yet-to-be-announced expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online that is available right now, according to GamingBible.
