Guild Wars 2 developer ArenaNet just announced a new 5v5 mode for the game that is known as Push and is asking players for their feedback in an upcoming beta test next week.
The studio is set to reveal more about the new mode in an upcoming stream but said that Push will have two teams trying to push an objective into the enemy base. You will have to keep your foes from pushing into your own side.
Guild Wars 2's New Push Mode
The new mode's simple mechanics were made like this intentionally because the team said it was looking to offer players something less layered and with fewer objectives than Conquest. They also said that they want challenging and fun competition that is also accessible to the full range of PVP experience.
Due to the new mode having a prototype map, everyone who is interested can get a chance to give their feedback. The special stream will kick off on the Guild Wars 2 official Twitch channel. It will start at noon Pacific time, according to MMORPG.

If you want to try out the new Push mode, there will be a scheduled beta test from Sept. 10, 2024, to Sept. 23, 2024. During this time, the mode will replace ranked queue and the mini season 2v2 reward system will be put into place.
The team's reasons for working on a new mode for Guild Wars 2 follow the reception of the community to Stronghold mode. The latter gets activity but only about 10% of unranked PVP matches in total for this year.
Simplifying Gameplay
ArenaNet said that it noticed that Conquest mode overwhelmed some players due to its many objectives and the need for precise map awareness. The Push mode was designed as a casual and fun alternative that has simple gameplay, said MassivelyOP.
The new mode also comes as a few weeks ago, Guild Wars 2 released its latest expansion, Janthir Wilds. This is the game's second expansion and introduced a lot of new content for players to enjoy.
ArenaNet said that it learned a lot from the previous expansion, Secrets of the Obscure, to know what it needed to do for new content. Many players have enjoyed Janthir Wilds since it came out.
However, there have been some people who complained about experiencing glitches here and there, such as in one of the last story missions. Here, one of the NPCs was silent for a little while and you had to find them to hear their parts of the dialogue, according to GeekTyrant.
