An indie team with "AAA" credentials, Space Goblin Studio, just announced its debut title that is set to release in early access in 2025, Astrobotanica.
The upcoming survival game is said to deliver a "unique blend of survival, exploration, and plant wizardry." The studio says that it will transport players to prehistoric Earth where an alien botanist crash-lands in search of planet species to save their dying home planet known as Aya.
Astrobotanica Coming in Early Access in 2025
The team behind the upcoming title is made up of developers who previously worked on Dead Island and Dying Light, they plan to closely engage with gamers in further development of Astrobotanica.
This is to make sure that relevance and replayability are a thing and that they are able to deliver a bigger and more meaningful message. This is as players cultivate, research, and experiment with plant species that could thrive on Aya, according to Eurogamer.
In a statement, the founder of Space Goblin Studio, Arkadiusz Wozniak, said that Astrobotanica is a game that they have always wanted to play themselves. He added that they are hoping to bring new life to the survival genre by mixing together innovative gameplay with familiar themes.

Astrobotanica puts players in control of Xel, an alien botanist whose society is on the brink of collapse in her home world. This is due to technological abuse that has led Mother Nature to slowly wither away.
But Xel's ship crash lands on Earth in the middle of the Pleistocene era, forcing you to forage for flora that can breathe new life into your dying home planet. Astrobotanica looks very similar to Subnautica where you will have to survive against vicious predators, said PCGamesN.
A Lush Open World
You will be forced to spend your days researching, cultivating, and cross-breeding various plant species. However, you will also need to keep an eye out for any creatures or primal humans who will want you as a snack.
As Xel, players will have access to a lot of gadgets and gizmos that so far still remain a mystery to players and the public. What we do know is that you can use one of them to scan and identify a plant as seen in the trailer.
The official description puts the setting of Astrobotanica 300,000 years ago and features a lush open world. Wozniak also said that with gamers' support, they will be able to turn the game into a remarkable title as they work towards a future co-op mode, according to GodIsAGeek.
