Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree added a lot of content to the base game, including a lot of new bosses that players can challenge.
In this guide, we will be talking about how you can learn to beat one of the Elden Ring DLC's many new bosses, the Ghostflame Dragon. There are many things that make the Ghostflame Dragon a formidable foe in FromSoftware's popular game.
These include its high health pool as well as its many resistances and immunities that make dealing damage to it a real challenge. Fortunately, there are some tips and tricks that you should know that will help you in slaying this ferocious creature.
Preparing for the Fight
The Ghostflame Dragon can be encountered in multiple locations across the new area in the DLC, and the first and closest one is in the big lake north of the Scorched Ruins.
The boss is hidden in plain sight as it has wrapped itself around its own body in a pile of bones slightly off-center in the middle of the lake itself, according to TheGamer.
You should note that you are allowed to use Spirit Summons or summoned cooperators whenever you fight the Ghostflame Dragon. It is also recommended to prepare Thawfrost Boluses to alleviate the Frostbite status.
You can also bring other items that can reduce damage from Magic or Physical sources, such as the Spelldrake Talisman and the Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. These will most likely be helpful in your fight against the Ghostflame Dragon.

Tips for the Fight
When fighting the Ghostflame Dragon, you should avoid using several damage types, such as Bleed, Lightning, Pierce, Frostbite, and Poison. You should also take advantage of spells that can enhance your Magic or Physical negation, such as Barrier of Gold or Black Flame's Protection.
Ghostflame Dragon's Weaknesses
Other things that you should know are the boss' weakness, which includes holy and physical damage. Specializing in these damage types will help you deal more damage to the Ghostflame Dragon and take it down faster.
With the boss being weak to holy damage, players who are running incantation or sorcery build and have holy damage spells have an advantage against the Ghostflame Dragon, said Beebom.
Other Things You Should Know
Another thing that can help you beat the Ghostflame Dragon is if you upgrade and equip some Spirit Ashes. You don't need to focus on any particular type of Spirit Ash just as long as it is distracting the boss enough.
You can also obtain the Dragon-Hunter's Great Katana, which is one of the best weapons available in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. It is popular for dealing bonus damage against dragons and it is dropped by the Ancient Dragon-Man mini-boss.
If you want to stay safe, you can also use a high-range weapon, such as Loretta's Mastery, that lets you pummel the Ghostflame Dragon from afar. This particular spell can be acquired from Loretta, Knight of the Haligtree, according to Polygon.
