Funko Fusion just released a new demo for PC players alongside a new reveal trailer that shows players will be able to survive The Thing as Capcom's Mega Man.

The upcoming pop culture mashup game from developer 10:10 Games lets players experience the horrors of John Carpenter's 1982 film The Thing. However, it features extremely out-of-place characters who you will most definitely notice do not belong there.

Funko Fusion Gets PC Demo

The reveal that Mega Man will be playable in Funko Fusion comes alongside his availability in the recently released demo on Steam. Some of the other playable characters include Freddy Fazbear and He-Man.

In a post on Steam, the developer said that they have been working on Funko Fusion for three years and the latest demo is the first time that they are inviting the public to experience it outside of recent timed convention demos, according to GameSpot.

The studio also said that any feedback, whether it be positive or negative, will be invaluable to them as they get closer to the Sept. 13, 2024, release date and beyond. Funko Fusion will reportedly feature more than 20 IPs owned by NBCUniversal.

On top of The Thing, there will also be content taken from Jurassic World, Jaws, Back to the Future, Shaun of the Dead, Battlestar Galactica, and many others. The sheer variety of IPs included in the game has surprised even some fans.

The developer behind Funko Fusion is led by CEO and creative director Jon Burton, who had previously founded Lego developer Traveller's Tales. An official description for the game reads that it is an action-adventure, single-player, and online co-op experience, said the VideoGamesChronicle.

Mega Man Reveal

It is also said to pay tribute to NBCUniversal's deep roster of beloved worlds and IP as well as the irreverent Funko Pop. In Funko Fusion, players will be able to celebrate their favorite movies and TV shows across a wide range of more than 20 franchises.

The reveal trailer for Mega Man also suggests Capcom's blue hero will not be getting his own exclusive world or level. This means that he could simply be more of a cameo character among others.

The hype around Mega Man comes as earlier this year, during a call with investors, Capcom teased new Mega Man games and spin-offs coming in the future. The company said that it simply needed some "ideas and gameplay" in order to put out something new for the franchise, according to Kotaku.
