Roblox has been banned in Turkey as the government aims to keep kids safe. The popular gaming platform, known for letting users make and play their own games, faced the block less than a week after Turkey also stopped access to Instagram.
Turkish officials say they want to protect kids from being exploited online. Turkey's court took action after several warnings and concerns about the safety risks for children on Roblox.

Turkey Takes Action Against Roblox
Turkey has officially blocked access to Roblox, a decision driven by concerns about the safety of its youngest users. This move follows a recent trend where Turkey also limited access to other popular social media platforms like Instagram.
Reports revealed that the Adana 6th Criminal Court of Peace enforced the decision to ban Roblox. This court specifically focused on how the platform's content could lead to the exploitation of children.
It is one of those major steps that prove that Turkey is indeed regulating the online environment so its youth remain safe from ill effects.
Kotaku says the gaming platform, which allows users to create and share games with others, has long been on watch. Reports in recent years have pointed out red flags, signaling that Roblox is not a safe space for kids.
Indeed, earlier this year, over 13,000 reports associated with child safety concerns were routed to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a number that becomes very large, pointing to a significant problem in the platform.
Turkey Tightens Online Child Safety
The Turkish government has responded that while it understands the importance of technology and the associated benefits, it still has to take measures against the misuse of technology.
Also, the Justice Minister of Turkey responded by saying that Turkey closely follows global technology trends and uses effective technology. But the abuse of technology, especially in cases when children are being targeted, was not acceptable.
Given these challenges regarding Roblox, the company responded by reaching out to relevant authorities in Turkey to address concerns raised and restore access to their platform in the country.
As per Roblox, user safety has always remained top of the list; it has gone to great lengths to make its platform one of the safest online places for children.
