Baldur's Gate 3 is Larian Studios' highly popular and successful party-based role-playing game in the Dungeons & Dragons universe that features a ton of achievements for players to complete.

One of these is the Jack-of-All-Trades achievement which many players consider to be the hardest one to complete in the game. The requirement for this is fairly simple but is actually hard to do in-game.

Baldur's Gate 3 Jack-of-All-Trades Achievement

What you need to do is, in one playthrough, multiclass into every single class in Baldur's Gate 3 but with the added restriction of not asking Withers to change your character. Due to this particular limitation, many players have a hard time completing the Jack-of-All-Trades achievement, according to Dexerto.

The act of multiclassing is a potent way of building your character in Baldur's Gate 3 and has a lot of benefits. However, adding too many classes to your build can sometimes make the entire thing a complete disaster.

One particular Baldur's Gate 3 player took to Reddit to share his grievances with the achievement and was fortunately met with a lot of recommendations. One of the comments cited that the best and easiest way to do this is to have a companion that you don't use ready.

After your character reaches level 12, you then add the companion to your party which will automatically raise them to the same level as you. You then simply "add class" to every level in order to complete the Jack-of-All-Trades achievement, said GameRant.

How To Complete the Tricky Requirement

There is another way to complete this tricky achievement, and it is by using a hireling instead of a companion. Hirelings are companions that players can obtain from Withers in camp and cost 100 Gold each.

The nice thing about hirelings is that they can immediately be taken to level 12 if the player's main character already reached that level cap in the game. You then simply do the same thing with the companion's way where you "add class" at each level along the way.

While a Jack-of-All-Trades build can be somewhat difficult to pull off, it has some nice benefits that would be useful at various points in the game. One thing to note is that Baldur's Gate 3 rules focus on a proficiency bonus that is determined by total character level.

This means that a Jack-of-All-Trades that is level 12 will have the same base accuracy, skills, and saving throws as a pure-classed character. Classes are instead responsible for determining which attacks apply proficiency or not, according to ScreenRant.
