Fortnite Ends Exclusive Period for Battle Pass Skins After 18 Months

Fortnite Ends Exclusive Period for Battle Pass Skins After 18 Months

Fortnite is shaking things up by ending the exclusive period for Battle Pass skins. Now, players can snag these skins in the Item Shop 18 months after they first drop. This change means even if you missed out on a Battle Pass, you still get a chance to grab some cool skins later on.

Epic Games hopes this will keep the game fresh and fun for everyone, without changing the cost of a Battle Pass.

Fortnite Shifts Battle Pass Strategy

Epic Games has announced a major policy change that will affect Fortnite fans globally. Starting 18 months from their launch, items from the game's Battle Passes will no longer be exclusive and will be moved to the Fortnite Item Shop for purchase.

This is a huge shift in the game model where once locked away forever after their initial season, skins from the Battle Pass remain the same.

As a matter of fact, this new move by Epic Games will reduce players' Fear of Missing Out (FOMO). Now, fans who missed a particular Battle Pass are going to get a chance to procure those exclusive goodies, from outfits to back blings, pickaxes, and emotes. However, note that not all the items from previous Battle Passes will return to the shop.

New Changes, Same Fun Prices

Although the move will allow a wider audience to receive former exclusive content, it will not apply retroactively. In this regard, popular skins like Hades or Deadpool, who were part of past Battle Passes, will not be making a comeback.

Epic Games confirmed the decision was made to help keep the game interesting and fresh for new and existing players. The cost for both passes will still be the same: 950 V-Bucks, or around $8.49. This decision comes amidst other games facing backlash for overhauling their Battle Pass systems.

Fortnite still holds a huge following to date, running into about 650 million users, with daily active players running into millions to back its credential at the top in gaming.
