Star Wars Jedi: Survivor finally got an official release date for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, which is set for Sept. 17, 2024.

Developer Respawn Entertainment made the announcement that players will be able to take on Cal Kestis' latest journey starting next month. The studio confirmed the official release date of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for last-gen consoles in a press release.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Coming to Last-Gen Consoles

The CEO of Electronic Arts, Andrew Wilson, announced in August last year that a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port of the game was in development. Both versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be priced at $49.99.

The developer also touted that the new ports will "feature a variety of optimizations aimed at maximizing the hardware capabilities of the consoles." On top of this, Respawn Entertainment confirmed that there is a new update for the game's PC version, according to IGN.

The developer teased that the latest update, which would arrive in the coming weeks, will improve the game's technical performance and controls. It would also introduce a series of quality-of-life improvements.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports come as the game was originally launched for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S in April 2023. The game's story is set five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, which was released in 2019.

The sequel shifts the focus to Cal Kestis and his friends as they try to fend off the Empire with everything they have. Despite the game's shortcomings for the PC version when it was launched, it was met with critical acclaim.

Ports for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Fortunately, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game did not suffer the same shortcomings as the PC version. Players are also hopeful that this is a lesson learned for the developer with the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One ports, said The Verge.

The last-gen console ports of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor come as Electronic Arts has not yet revealed any hard sales numbers for the game. However, Wilson said that the game had "millions" of players.

His comment could be interpreted either way since the game launched with a lot of technical issues on PC.

In the past few years, several Star Wars games have come to last-gen consoles, either day-one releases, such as Lego Star Wars: Skywalker Saga, or as various remasters, such as Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, according to GameDeveloper.
