Team 21 Studio announced that its VR MMORPG game, Ilysia, will have a significant revamp. This huge update, which came out on Friday, brings with it the rewriting of some of its core systems in pursuit of better gameplay and player experience.

Movement and Combat Enhanced
Ilysia brings the full redesign of the Character Controller. This huge change would be applied to all movements: walking, running, jumping, crouching, and gliding. Features that are added include ladder and rope climbing, ziplining, and arm movements for sprinting and swimming. Hand gestures return, like pointing and thumbs up and fist bumps. Re-added a new system to grab items from a distance.
Combat in Ilysia has also seen a major rework. Cooldowns on melee strikes are removed and swing detection enhanced so that hits from a closer range can now connect for players with limited mobility. The Martial tree skills now hold functional melee combos, shield blocking is operational, archery mechanics have been redone entirely, and for casters, a new quick cast attack is available which does not consume mana, offering another strategy in tough situations.
Improved Mob Interactions and Future Updates
The new systems, however, make mobs in Ilysia more responsive during combat. More is in the pipeline, as the development team promises this is just the beginning of new features to heighten the immersion and dynamic combat experience of the game. Apart from that, it includes changes with an entirely revamped party system, enhancing VoIP reliability, among other fixes.
Team 21 Studio said that this patch is actually the foundation of the new changes, thus is a sign of continuous improvement on Ilysia itself.
