Desire of Kamiya for Viewtiful Joe 2
The fans are all asking for a sequel for this game, Viewtiful Joe, and now it seems like Hideki Kamiya is joining the league of fans. In an interview transcribed by PC Gamer, Kamiya begged Capcom to consider a sequel for Viewtiful Joe, as he said it annoy[ed] him that the story ended mid-way.
According to him, creators have the responsibility to make sequels that fans want. Though he has moved on from Okami, he still feels that he has unfinished work. He, therefore, hopes Capcom will collaborate with him to bring these sequels into life.
So far, Capcom hasn't done much of anything with the Okami series besides the HD remaster that dropped on PS3, PS4, and Switch. Maybe the reason behind not doing new Okami stuff is due to sales problems. Back in 2008, Capcom executive Christian Svensson said more people needed to buy the current version before they would do a sequel.

He also chimed in on Viewtiful Joe, which did receive a sequel, although one that ended with a cliffhanger. He joked that it wasn't on the recent Capcom survey because "not many people played it." Kamiya was joking about responding to the survey saying, "I am Hideki Kamiya, let me make Viewtiful Joe's sequel."
Jokingly, Kamiya has conveyed what he had to say. He would be pleased if his words trigger someone's interest and new projects arise from it. After all, such discussions sometimes are all that is needed to ignite the fire and start off on a brand new project. Kamiya has crossed his fingers for Capcom to rise to the challenge and make these sequels a reality.
