What's Included in the Release?
The upcoming Switch Joy-Con Charging Stand addresses a common issue: the need to physically connect Joy-Con controllers to the Switch for charging. This standalone solution enables convenient charging without tethering the controllers to the console.
Set to debut on October 17, 2024 in Japan, the charging stand will retail for 3,300 Yen, approximately $21 USD. It is currently available for pre-order exclusively through the My Nintendo Store.
Versatile Charging Options
The stand supports vertical charging of Joy-Con controllers directly on the stand itself. Alternatively, users can detach the stand for horizontal charging, resembling a traditional controller setup. Notably, it also accommodates the wireless Famicom controllers designed for use with the Switch Online Famicom library, a feature exclusive to Japan.
According to Nintendo, "Users can conveniently charge their Joy-Con anytime, without needing to attach them to the Nintendo Switch console. This is ideal for households with multiple Joy-Con controllers, whether for multiplayer gaming sessions or simply ensuring spares are always ready."
