Deathmatch Mode Disabled
One of the major updates in Valorant Patch 9.01 is the temporary removal of the Deathmatch mode on consoles. Riot Games has identified an unspecified issue causing problems in this mode and has decided to disable it until a fix is implemented. Additionally, the Surrender menus have been temporarily disabled because players were getting stuck on these menus throughout the rounds. The Draw menu, however, remains accessible.
Lotus Map and Agent Adjustments
The new patch introduces the Lotus map to the Competitive mode, along with its availability in Unrated, Swift Play, and Deathmatch. This change is part of Riot's ongoing effort to enhance the gaming experience for console players. The previous patch had already added ranked play to consoles with a limited map selection, but the addition of the Lotus map expands the options for competitive gameplay.
In terms of agent updates, Iso has received a nerf that was initially listed in Episode 9's first patch. Iso can no longer regain his Double Tap ability after two kills, and the duration of Double Tap has been reduced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds. Other agents, such as Neon and Raze, have also seen adjustments. Neon's re-equip speed for her slide ability has been changed from Fast to Instant. Raze's second Blast Pack's horizontal force has been reduced to limit its use for movement.
Valorant Patch 9.01 brings several new settings for console players, including the ability to rebind non-ultimate Ability buttons and invert map cursor controls. Riot Games continues to address bugs and improve gameplay, ensuring that Valorant remains an engaging and competitive experience across all platforms.
